Stretching

I found a form of exercise that I love! I was picking blackberries in my daughter’s garden. Leo, the cat was meandering along with me …wondering perhaps why I was interested in those black objects that had no appeal to him.

And as I reached for a particularly beautiful, perfect blackberry I realized that the biggest, blackest, shiniest ones were always those at the top or at the back of the bush. And so I found myself stretching … stretching out to reach those exquisite berries. I also found that I needed to be sure of my balance, or I would end up in a bramble bush!

And so it occurred to me, what a wonderful exercise this was, both physically and mentally. I had to physically stretch to get the best, and how relevant that is too for our mental exercise.

We need to stretch to get to the best of what we want for ourselves.

Perhaps we need to stretch a little to feel more forgiveness to someone … perhaps stretch more to acknowledge our own self worth … stretch to adopt calm assurance as our way of life … stretch to believe in a positive future.

I could go on, but you get the idea. What can you stretch to achieve? It will help you to stay balanced and you will be accessing the best of those things you want in your life.
